St. Michael Church to sponsor St. Patrick’s Day Party

CRANSTON — St. Michael Church, Providence, will sponsor a St. Patrick’s Day Party at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet on March 17. Doors open at 1 p.m.; John Connors & the Irish Express will entertain from 2 – 5 p.m. The Dierdre Goulding School of Irish Dancers will perform from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.; followed by The Garda Band from 7 – 10 p.m. Children under 12 are admitted free. St. Francis of Assisi Church to host Organ Symphony

WAKEFIELD — An Organ Symphony will be performed on Sunday, March 26 at 3 p.m., in St. Francis of Assisi Church 114 High St. This Organ Symphony, written and performed by Enrico Garzilli, takes its inspiration from Luke 1: 26-56. The symphony is written in five movements and follows the beautiful journey of the Blessed Mother. ‘Autism Eats’ coming to East Providence

EAST PROVIDENCE — St. Brendan’s Church is collaborating with Autism Eats, an organization that helps promote and provide autism-friendly and non-judgmental environments for family dining, socializing and connecting with others who share similar joys and challenges. Dinners are served by reservation only and a set per-person price has been negotiated with the restaurant in advance. The dinner will take place on Tuesday, March 21 at Chelo’s Hometown Bar and Grille, 911 Warren Ave., in East Providence. Knights planning Irish Breakfast

NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will host an Irish Breakfast at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, on Sunday, March 12, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Scrambled eggs, bangers, rashers, corned beef hash, home fries, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, soda bread, hot and cold cereal, orange juice, coffee and tea will be served. R.I. Knights to host Day of Recollection for all Catholics

WARWICK — The Knights of Columbus councils throughout Rhode Island cordially invite all Catholics to participate in their annual Day of Recollection on Saturday, March 18, at 9 a.m., at St. Gregory the Great parish hall, located at 360 Cowesett Road. The day is hosted by State Chaplain Father Joseph Paquette and will be conducted by Deacon Paul Lambert from St. John Vianney Parish in Cumberland. Opportunity for Consecration to Mary

NET Ministries Retreat dates for Fall 2017 – Spring 2018

PROVIDENCE — NET (National Evangelization Teams) Ministries is an international Catholic youth ministry that is committed to challenging young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church, leading approximately 1,000 retreats annually. Each year, young adult volunteers are sent out in teams across the United States to conduct middle school and high school retreats for Catholic teens. The 14 NET teams share their faith with 75,000 youth nationally on an annual basis. PC professor to discuss ‘what every Christian should know about Islam’

WAKEFIELD — Dr. Sandra Keating will present a discussion entitled “What Every Christian Should Know About Islam” on Monday, March 20, 7 p.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Dr. Keating, a professor at Providence College, received her Ph.D. at Catholic University of America and teaches and publishes in the area of comparative religion with an emphasis on Catholic-Muslim Relations, particularly theological exchange in the early medieval period. Dr. Keating is a member of the USCCB Catholic-Muslim dialogue group and has served as a Consultor on the Vatican Commission for Religious Relations with Muslims.

Knights to host Lenten clam cake and chowder dinner

40 Days for Life Fall Campaign begins

PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family Ministry and R.I. Right to Life will co-sponsor the Lenten campaign which will take place now through Palm Sunday, April 9. St. Joseph’s to host annual Spring Dinner

A Celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and St. Joseph’s Day

Lenten Mission scheduled for All Saints Church

WOONSOCKET — Woonsocket Council #113 Knights of Columbus is sponsoring its third annual Lenten Mission to be held at All Saints Church, 323 Rathbun St. This will be a three-night event on March 13, 14 and 15, beginning at 7 p.m. A presentation will be offered each night, followed by an opportunity for confession on Monday and Tuesday and Holy Mass on Wednesday.
