St. Martha offering Lenten evening Masses

EAST PROVIDENCE — During Lent, St. Martha’s Parish will offer an evening Mass at 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. All are welcome to attend.

40 Days for Life Fall Campaign begins

PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family Ministry and R.I. Right to Life will co-sponsor the Lenten campaign which will take place now through Palm Sunday, April 9. The office is asking parishes to adopt a day or for individuals to adopt an hour for prayer at Planned Parenthood, 111 Point St., Providence, or the Women’s Medical Clinic, located at 1725 Broad St., Cranston, during this 40-day period. St. Theresa offering fish and chips every Friday during Lent

HARRISVILLE — St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 35 Dion Drive, will offer fish and chips every Friday from noon until 7 p.m. during Lent, except Good Friday. Grapenut pudding will also be available. Please call the rectory at 568-8280 with any questions regarding this event.

Lenten activities, dinner featured at St. Brendan’s Church

RIVERSIDE — St. Brendan’s Parish, 60 Turner Ave., will offer Adoration, Rosary Holy Hour and Sacramental Reconciliation on Wednesdays during Lent at 6:30 p.m. All are also invited to attend Friday dinners during Lent, from 4 – 6:45 p.m. featuring chowder, clam cakes, grilled cheese, crab cake sandwiches and fish and chips. There will be complimentary coffee and desserts. Stations of the Cross will begin at 7 p.m.

Parish to celebrate weekly Traditional Latin Mass in Lent

St. Agnes Church announces Lenten Mass schedule and Pasta Supper

PROVIDENCE — The Lenten schedule for St. Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., is as follows: Weekday Masses during Lent will be celebrated on Mondays and Fridays at noon. Stations of the Cross will be held on Tuesdays during Lent at 7 p.m., following the 6 p.m. St. Jude Novena.

Learn more about your faith, vocation at Quo Vadis Days

PROVIDENCE — Catholic young men ages 13-18 are invited to attend Quo Vadis Days camp to spend time with other young men from around the diocese to cultivate friendship, strengthen their faith and discover God’s purpose for their lives. Quo Vadis Days is led by priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Providence and is supported by the Office of Vocations. The camp will be held from Sunday, July 30 to Wednesday, August 2 at the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence. Knights and Legion of Mary slated to host Public Square Rosary

RIVERSIDE — In honor of the “Year with Mary our Mother,” all are invited to take part in a Public Square Rosary with the Knights of Columbus and the Legion of Mary on Sunday, April 2, from 1 – 2 p.m. in front of the Knights of Columbus Hall at 3200 Pawtucket Ave. This public square rosary is a gathering of the faithful to pray the rosary in a public venue in solidarity for our country and in honor of the anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima. Tenebrae to be observed at St. Mary Church

WEST WARWICK — St. Mary Church, 70 Church St., will observe Tenebrae on Wednesday, April 12 in the church. Tenebrae, or the Office of Shadows, recalls the night that Judas arranged for the betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. This moving, interactive and prayerful event will take place at 7 p.m. The service may not be suitable for small children. Periods of darkness and loud, frightening sounds accompany this ceremony. Parish Dinner Dance, Silent Auction scheduled at Crowne Plaza

WARWICK — St. Bartholomew Church will commemorate its annual Parish Dinner Dance on Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza. St. Eugene Church Italian Night Dinner

St. Thomas More to lead Stations in the Streets

NARRAGANSETT — St. Thomas More Parish will host their annual Stations in the Streets on Good Friday, April 14, at noon. The procession will begin inside the church at 53 Rockland St., with an opening prayer from Father Marcel Taillon, and will continue through the streets of Narragansett via Ocean Road along the sea wall and under the Narragansett Towers. As they carry the cross of Jesus, confirmation students will be praying 13 stations before reentering the church for the fourteenth station. This event will be held rain or shine.

Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy to be performed at St. Theresa Church

TIVERTON — Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy, the moving, live production performed by actress Maria Vargo and directed by Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions, will be presented at St. Theresa Church in Tiverton on Sunday, April 9 at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Catholic Faith Communities of St. Theresa & St. Christopher. This drama also brings audiences a riveting modern story that makes Divine Mercy remarkably relevant and urgent for our world today. St. Martha Parish to offer Bingo night

Holy Hour to Pray for Children facing difficulties

NARRAGANSETT — St. Thomas More Parish will host their Lenten Mission April 2-4, from 7 – 8 p.m. at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St. The theme of this year’s mission is “Inside Out: The Imitation of Christ Through the Heart of Jesus,” and will be presented by Father Casey Beaumier, S.J., of Boston College. Maestro to present 'Songs of the Resurrection'

HARRISVILLE — Maestro John Black, a composer, as well as an organist and choir director at several Catholic churches in the diocese, will present a hymn sing and organ concert to benefit the preservation of the historic First Universalist Church. 'Songs of the Resurrection' is being organized as an evening of fun and inspiration to help preserve the historic landmark, which is slated to become a historical museum and multi-use facility. The event will be held on Palm Sunday evening, April 9 at 6:15 p.m., at 134 Harrisville Main St., and will feature a historical display and refreshments. A free will offering is appreciated.
