Bishop Richard G. Henning installed Father Phillip Dufour as pastor of St. Theresa Parish in Tiverton on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. On Sunday, Jan. 7, Bishop Henning also installed Father Dufour as pastor of St. Christopher Parish in Tiverton. “Father Dufour, you will have many responsibilities as the pastor of this parish, and I know you undertake those responsibilities joyfully,” Bishop Henning said in his homily at St. Theresa Church. “So, in a very real sense, it’s fitting that you be installed on this wonderful day [Gaudete Sunday] in the life of the Church. And I hope that for all of the years that you serve here, you will not forget that command and call to rejoice always and in all circumstances to give thanks.” Pictured, Father Dufour smiles after receiving applause during his installation, and subsequently greeted members of various parish councils afterward.
