PAWTUCKET — Sister Bernadette Sherin, LSP, formerly known as Eileen Sherin, died on Monday, July 10, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Agnes (Lee) Sherin.
Sister Bernadette entered the Little Sisters of the Poor in 1951 and devotedly served as a Religious Sister for 72 years. She took her First Vows on December 13, 1951, and made her Final Profession on October 15, 1956. Sister Bernadette’s life of service extended to several locations including, France, Canada and various homes throughout the United States, including Chicago. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Alongside her beloved community of the Little Sisters of the Poor, she is survived by several cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, July 18, at the Chapel of the St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, with interment at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket.
