American Heritage Girls to host open registration

SEEKONK, Mass. — The American Heritage Girls will hold open registration on January 18, from 3:45 – 5:15 p.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Ave. (Rte. 44) Seekonk, Mass. Parents and daughters are welcome to join us to learn about AHG and enjoy some faith, service and fun. AHG is a faith-based character development program for girls’ ages 5 – 18 dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. All You Can Eat Pasta and Meatball Supper to benefit parish social ministry

MANVILLE — St. James Church, 33 Division St. will host an All You Can Eat Pasta and Meatball Supper to benefit parish social ministry on Saturday, Jan. 20, from 4-7 p.m., in Father Brindamour Hall. The meal, which also includes salad, rolls, dessert and beverages, costs $8.00 per person and $5.00 for children 10 and under. Tickets should be purchased in advance by calling the parish office at 766-1558. They will also be available at the door.

Hope and Cope Group meetings scheduled

PORTSMOUTH — The next meeting of the Hope & Cope Group is January 21, at 5 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road. Hope & Cope is a faith-based support group intended for those struggling with or supporting a family member or a friend struggling with alcohol or drug addictions or mental distress. Hope & Cope is open to everyone interested in this ministry. Meetings are held in the Chapel Meeting Room (under the small Chapel) from 5 – 6 p.m. This program is free, and no registration is required. Knights of Columbus to host Blood Drive

RIVERSIDE — The Knights of Columbus Council 1528 in East Providence, working with the Rhode Island Blood Center, will host a Blood Drive on Sunday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at 3200 Pawtucket Ave. All presenting donors will receive a Dunkin Donuts gift card. Donors are asked to be certain they eat a good meal and stay hydrated before donating, as well as to bring identification. Appointments are strongly encouraged. ‘Love and Peace in the Beloved Community:’ A celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

PROVIDENCE — All are invited to an evening of prayer and song in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday, on Monday, Jan. 22, 7 p.m., at St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St. This event is sponsored by the Office of Black Catholic Ministry for the Diocese of Providence and St. Patrick Church. PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island Right to Life will sponsor a statewide pro-life rally, Wednesday, Jan. 24, 3-4 p.m., in the Statehouse rotunda. Woodlawn Catholic Regional to host Open House, Alumni Mass

PAWTUCKET — Woodlawn Catholic Regional School, 61 Hope St., will hold an Open House on Sunday, Jan. 28 from 1 -3 p.m. Learn about our strong academic, faith-based program for grades pre-K through 8. Bereavement Support Program scheduled at St. Lucy Church

MIDDLETOWN — The Office of Life and Family of the Diocese of Providence will offer the Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support Program at St. Lucy Church, 909 West Main Road, in the parish center, each Thursday evening 7 - 8:30 p.m., February 1 through March 22. This support group provides topics about grief and healing, the spiritual comforts of the Catholic Faith and a peaceful environment for adults to share about their grief after the loss of a loved one. The group is most appropriate for persons at least three months beyond their loss. There is no cost to attend! For registration or for more information, contact Peter A. Mardi Gras Breakfast

WARREN—A Mardi Gras Breakfast will be held at St. Alexander Church, 221 Main St., on Sunday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m. – noon. The menu includes a waffle station, eggs, sausage, ham, homemade homefries, pastries and muffins, fruit, juice, and coffee. Adults $10; Children (12 and under) $7. Tickets are available at the door or sold before or after Mass.
