Deacon Anthony J. Wendoloski, Jr.

PROVIDENCE — Deacon Anthony “Tony” J. Wendoloski, Jr., passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Born in Providence, He was the son of the late Anthony J. and Yvonne (Pichette) Wendoloski, Sr. Tony was the loving husband of Jo-Ann (Giorgio) Wendoloski, and beloved father of Elaine O’Connell, Kimberly A. Major, and Gayle A Rapoza. Wendoloski was employed in the jewelry manufacturing business for many years and the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral Home, Providence, before his retirement. He was ordained as a Permanent Deacon on June 5, 1982, at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, Providence by Bishop Louis E. Gelineau. He served as Chaplain of the Rhode Island Training School for Boys and Girls, Chaplain for Narcotics Anonymous Groups for many years, and Chaplain at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital for 14 years. He was a member of the North Providence Mancini Center. Wendoloski was appointed as Deacon Assistant of Our Lady Lourdes Parish by Bishop Kenneth A. Angell in 1985.
He was the loving grandfather of Zachary, Justin, “CJ” and Sarah Rapoza, Brendan and Ryan O’Connell, and Alexander Major and his great grandaughter Lily Rapoza. He was the brother of the late Joseph Wendoloski.
Wendoloski is survived by his sister Eileen Laprade and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 18 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Providence, with burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
