Bingo night to benefit religious education
NORTH PROVIDENCE — Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., will host a bingo night to benefit the parish religious education program on Friday, July 26. Outdoor movie nights
CRANSTON — The Knights of Columbus, Rev. Richard A. Donnelly Council No. 322, will host free outdoor family movie nights at St. Mark Church, in the parish field, 31 Poplar Drive. Gates open 45 minutes before the film’s start time. The schedule is as follows: Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian — Friday, July 26, 8 p.m.; Ant-Man — Friday, Aug. 16, 7:30 p.m.; Star Wars (VII): The Force Awakens — Friday, Aug. 30, 7:30 p.m.; Spider-Man: Homecoming — Friday, Sept. 13, 7 p.m.; The Avengers — Friday, Oct. 4, 6:30 p.m. Seating will be available but limited. Please consider bringing your own chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie. Hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, candy, and drinks will be sold.
Summer 2024 Evangelization Week, July 29 – Aug. 2
PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Vocations Office and the Office of Family, Youth, & Young Adult Evangelization have planned the first ever Evangelization Week, taking place Mon., July 29 – Fri., Aug. 2. Open to men and women ages 16-35, each event promises opportunities for participants to encounter Christ: Monday: “Encounter Providence” at St. Patrick Church Soup Kitchen (plus Awful-Awfuls!); Tuesday: “Streets & Sports” at Bishop Hendricken in Warwick includes teaching on the Saints and pizza; Wednesday: “Chillin’ & Grillin’” is evening prayer at Our Lady of Providence Seminary with a cookout and the opportunity to also ‘Grill the Seminarians;’ Thursday: “PVD Church Crawl” is an architectural tour of our beautiful Providence churches and includes candlelit night prayer and food; Friday: “Friday Night Fever” is a Holy Hour for Vocations at St. Philip Church, Greenville, with veneration of St. John Vianney Relic and food. Summer Tent Revival

Basketball Clinic at Chesterton Academy
WARWICK — This summer, Chesterton Academy, 610 Jefferson Blvd., will host its first basketball clinic for seventh and ninth graders the mornings of July 29 - July 31. Italian Heritage Mass and Dinner Dance
WEST WARWICK — Sacred Heart Church will hold its annual Italian Heritage Mass and Dinner Dance on Saturday, Aug. 3. This year it will be held in memory of Rev. Richard A. Bucci. The feast will begin with Mass at 5 p.m. in the church, followed by the dinner dance at the Quonset O Club in North Kingstown. Music provided by a DJ. Our Lady of the Rosary plans Parish Feast and Procession
PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of the Rosary will celebrate its parish feast on August 9 - 11. There will be homemade Portuguese food specialties, including Malassadas (doughboys), live entertainment each evening, and amusement rides for the children. On Friday, Aug. 9, 7 p.m., Bishop Richard G. Henning will be the main celebrant and homilist at the Mass in honor of Our Lady of Fatima. Following the Mass, there will be a candlelight procession and the recitation of the rosary through the streets of Fox Point. All are welcome to attend.
Knights plan golf tournament
RICHMOND — The Knights of Columbus Pope Pius XII Council in Narragansett will host its 12th annual Golf Tournament at the Richmond Country Club, 74 Sandy Pond Road, on Saturday, August 10. To date, the tournament has provided over $76,000 in seminarian scholarships and more than $40,000 to local charities. Young adult community service day August 17
PROVIDENCE — Join the Diocese of Providence on Saturday, August 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for a fulfilling and impactful Young Adult Day of Community Service. This event brings together young adults in the diocese to volunteer their time and effort in various service projects. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in activities such as ministry to the homeless, nursing home visits, and various diocesan projects. Little Sisters of the Poor to hold Summer Soirée
PAWTUCKET — The Little Sisters of the Poor of Pawtucket will their Summer Soirée on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., Pawtucket. Tickets include wine and craft beer as well as small bites from area restaurants. The event will take place outdoors in the residence’s garden. St. Joseph Parish plans Polish Festival
CENTRAL FALLS — St. Joseph Parish, 391 High St., will hold its annual Polish Festival, September 6 – 8; Friday, Sept 6 (6 p.m.-12 a.m.); Saturday, Sept. 7 (6 p.m.-12 a.m.); and Sunday, Sept. 8 (noon - 5 p.m.) The festival will include delicious Polish and American food, games of chance, children’s entertainment and live music.
