Diocese of Providence kicks off anniversary year with ‘A Night to Honor Mary’ on September 8

PROVIDENCE — All are welcome to join Bishop Thomas J. Tobin to inaugurate the Diocese of Providence’s 150th anniversary celebration at “A Night to Honor Mary” on September 8, 6 p.m., in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul.
The Bishop will lead the diocese in this Marian devotion through prayer, readings from Sacred Scripture, praying of the Holy Rosary, with a litany and procession. A small reception will follow. Security will be provided.
During this special event Bishop Tobin will entrust the diocese and its anniversary observance to the Blessed Virgin Mary.


About the 150th Anniversary Year
Beginning September 8, 2021, the Diocese of Providence will celebrate the sesquicentennial of its foundation through a series of events running through June 2022.
