On Saturday, Sept. 7, Archbishop-elect Richard G. Henning installed Father Thomas J. Ferland as the new pastor of St. Mark Church in Jamestown. Archbishop Henning shared that the Lord has called Father Ferland to be a priest after his own heart and encouraged the new parish shepherd to work hard to “see people through the eyes of the Lord,” to “see their hearts, see their goodness and their suffering.”
The Archbishop-elect added that, “I hope too, he gives you the grace to hear, listen to your people. For this people, the people of God, they are baptized into his life as well. And they’ll give you strength and wisdom every day in your ministry here on this beautiful island.”
