Catholic Sisters Week, held March 8-14, shines a light on the spirituality, mission, and community building of women religious. Here in the Diocese of Providence, a Mass was celebrated in honor of local religious women on Saturday, March 13, at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Monsignor Anthony Mancini, back row center, served as the celebrant and homilist, with Father Joseph Gillespie, LC, at right, concelebrating, and seminarian Stephen Coutcher, left, serving. The Holy Mass recognized National Sisters Week and served as an opportunity for the diocese and the local community to celebrate their vocations. “We gave God thanks for the gift of His call,” said Sister Elizabeth Castro, H.M.S.P., director of the Office for Religious, front row, second from left.
