Rosary at St. Romuald Chapel
WAKEFIELD — All are invited to pray the Rosary and Litany of Our Lady at St. Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Ave., weeknights at 5 p.m. throughout the month of October. All are welcome!
Saint Antoine Community to host Open House
NORTH SMITHFIELD — Saint Antoine Community will open its doors and welcome the public to their annual “Campus-Wide” Open House Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. - noon. Guests will hear about the services available in assisted living, memory care assisted living, and short-term and long-term skilled care. They will also have the opportunity to meet the staff and to ask questions. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
Pet Blessing
CUMBERLAND — St. Joan of Arc Parish will hold a blessing of the pets to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Sunday, Sept. 29, 1:30 p.m. The 15-minute ceremony will be held at the Mary Shrine outside of the church, 3357 Mendon Road. Pets from all parishes are welcome
Annual Friends of the Poor Walk
CRANSTON — Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s annual Friends of the Poor Walk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29, with registration at 10:30 a.m., and kick off at 11 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Center Field, 31 Poplar Dr. Register online as a team or individual svdpri.org/FOPWalk.
Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux
NASONVILLE — The Shrine of the Little Flower will celebrate the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux with two events. On Sunday, Sept. 29 the Shrine will join with the Little Flower Home for their 40th Anniversary celebration. The day begins at 1 p.m. with a luncheon and fellowship in the church hall. Followed at 3 p.m. by a Divine Mercy Eucharistic Holy Hour (Confession available) and at 4 p.m. the Rosary at the Shrine’s Rosary Walk. Devotions conclude with Mass at 5 p.m. and veneration of the Relic of St. Therese. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the Shrine will celebrate the Feast Day with Mass at 8:30 a.m. followed by a procession and veneration of the relic. Pasta Dinner
WAKEFIELD — St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., will hold their annual Pasta Dinner on Friday, Sept. 27, from 5-7 p.m., in Father Greenan Hall. Tickets can be purchased that evening. Music will be provided by Mark Castro. The event will also feature raffles and theme baskets.

A Spiritual ‘Toolkit’: 5 Psychological Keys to Growing in Freedom and Love
PROVIDENCE — A one-day retreat at St. Patrick’s Church, 244 Smith St., entitled “A Spiritual ‘Toolkit’: 5 Psychological Keys to Growing in Freedom and Love,” will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., in the church gymnasium. The presenter will be Christine Rubinstein, a retired Christian psychotherapist and convert to the Catholic Church. Cold lunch provided. Freewill offering.

Transitus of St. Francis
PROVIDENCE — St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., will hold a Transitus Service (the Passing of St. Francis to Eternal Life) on Thursday, Oct. 3, 7 p.m., in the church. All are invited to participate. This event is co-sponsored by the St. Clare of Assisi and Holy Spirit Secular Franciscan fraternities in honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

Blessing Of Animals

Traveling Eucharistic Rosary Congress
RHODE ISLAND — The Diocese of Providence will host a Traveling Eucharistic Rosary Congress from Saturday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 11. The Eucharistic Rosary Congress will travel to a different parish for each 24-hour period. Locally, seven parishes in the diocese will host one day of Eucharistic Adoration each. The Traveling Eucharistic Rosary Congress is a week-long period of intense, around-the-clock prayer consisting of Perpetual Adoration and hourly Rosary, offered in a spirit of reparation. Human Life Guild Day
PROVIDENCE — Human Life Guild Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Mass will be celebrated by Most Rev. Bishop Thomas Tobin, D.D., Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Providence, homilist. Following Mass, the bishop will present the Human Life Guild Awards. Life Chain
STATEWIDE — The Diocese of Providence Office of Life and Family Ministry will hold their annual Life Chain Sunday on Respect Life Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m., in a variety of locations across Rhode Island. Everyone is invited to participate in this annual, peaceful and visual statement of solidarity of Christians of the Catholic faith and other denominations in Rhode Island. Experience Lourdes in Wakefield
WAKEFIELD — There will be a free Lourdes Virtual Pilgrimage Experience at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. This live interaction experience will be guided by Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality, North American Volunteers, the first Lourdes Hospitality of the Americas. Not everyone can travel to Lourdes, but the Virtual Pilgrimage can make it possible to experience this same peace and healing.
