Knights car wash to benefit Special Olympics
JOHNSTON — The Knights of Columbus, Rev. Richard A. Donnelly Council No. 322 will sponsor a car wash at The Thirsty Beaver Restaurant, 288 Atwood Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 8:30 - 11 a.m. Proceeds to benefit Cranston Cyclones of Special Olympics Rhode Island.
Knights to bring Italian feast to Scituate Art Festival
NORTH SCITUATE — During the Scituate Art Festival on October 7, 8 and 9, the Knights of Columbus Feeney Council will sponsor a Ristorante San Giuseppe in St. Joseph’s Church hall at 144 Danielson Pike, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., daily. A full Italian meal, including meatballs and pasta, salad with dressing, beverage, Italian bread, dessert and many more food items will be served. The Ristorante is located at the intersection of Rte. 116 and Danielson Pike. Entrance by the parking lot on the side of the church. “To Go” orders will also be available.
Blessing Of Animals at St. Patrick
PROVIDENCE — St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., will hold The Blessing of Animals on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m., in the parking lot. All are invited to participate. This event is sponsored by the St. Clare of Assisi Secular Franciscan Fraternity in honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

NORTH PROVIDENCE — Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., will hold The Blessing of Animals on Saturday, Oct. 7, 1 p.m., in the parking lot. All are welcome.
Blessing of the Pets at St. Joan of Arc
CUMBERLAND — Father Robert Lacombe will provide a Blessing of the Pets to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2 p.m. The 15-minute ceremony will be held at the Mary Shrine located outside of St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road. Pets from all parishes are welcome.
Blessing of Animals
NEWPORT — Commemorating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Mary Church, corner of Memorial Boulevard, West and Spring Street, will hold a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 8, at noon. All are welcome. The blessing will take place outdoors in the church courtyard. All animals must be leashed or in a pet carrier. The event will be held weather permitting. There is no rain date.

PC Lecture: ‘Ungodly Statecraft: Figural Judaism and the Critique of Desacralized Politics in 16th- and 17th-Century Europe’

PROVIDENCE —Dr. Benny Bar-Lavi, Inaugural Scholar-in-Residence in Jewish Studies and Jewish-Christian Relations at Providence College will host a lecture on Wednesday, October 11, at 6 p.m., entitled “Ungodly Statecraft: Figural Judaism and the Critique of Desacralized Politics in 16th- and 17th-Century Europe,” at Providence College in the Ruane Center for the Humanities 105 and streamed on Zoom. Providence College’s 2023 Randall Lecture scheduled
PROVIDENCE — Providence College’s 2023 Randall Lecture will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Aquinas Lounge. Rady Roldán-Figueroa, Th.D., is currently the Rev. Robert J. Randall Professor in Christian Culture. He will deliver a lecture entitled “The 'Conquest' and the Crisis of Tradition: What 16th-Century Dominicans Learned from the Humanity of the Indigenous People of the Americas." This event is free and open to the public.
St. Thomas More Parish to host Jazz Night at The Dunes Club
NARRAGANSETT — All are welcome to join St. Thomas More Parish on Friday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m., at The Dunes Club, 137 Boston Neck Road, for a Jazz Night themed event with music, cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions. Donations will benefit the February 2024 mission trip to the Community of Jesus Crucified in St. Martinville, Louisiana. The Prayer Vigil will include: Prayer Intentions for World Peace, Holy Rosary, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
St. John the Baptist Church to hold Yard Sale
PAWTUCKET — St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave., will hold a yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Silent Art Auction to benefit Our Lady of Providence Seminary
PROVIDENCE — All are invited to a Silent Art Auction to benefit Our Lady of Providence Seminary. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2 – 4 p.m., at the seminary, 485 Mt. Pleasant Ave., and feature diverse pieces ranging from Amsterdam etchings, local landscapes, folk art, antique oils and art glass. Discover the talent of local artists, including Reynold H. Weidenaar and the late, acclaimed Joan Boghossian, whose landscapes include Narragansett and Pawtucket landmarks. All proceeds from this event will support the seminary in Providence.
Fall Breakfast
EAST PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., will host a Fall Breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 15, serving from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The menu will include ham, sausage, eggs, home fries, baked beans, pancakes, pastries, coffee, tea and juice. There will also be multiple raffles with a special Split the Pot to end the morning. There are a minimal number of tickets to be sold at the door.
Weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
CUMBERLAND — Our Lady of Fatima Church, One Fatima Drive will offer Silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Friday. The schedule is as follows: 2- 5 p.m., Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament; 5 p.m. Holy Hour; 6 p.m. Mass; 6:30 – 8 p.m., Adoration and Benediction. The parish will also host a Eucharistic Revival event on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. with praise and worship music. All are invited.
Harvest Dance
WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., will hold a Harvest Dance in the church hall on Saturday, Oct. 28. Deja Vu /4'S Country will provide musical entertainment from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be a small admission fee at the door which includes coffee, tea and pastry. The kitchen will be open selling sandwiches and soft drinks, or you may bring your own. There will be a raffle, silent auction, and 50/50 split the pot. If you can, please bring a pastry to share. There will also be a representative from Paparazzi Jewelry with a display of jewelry for sale. Plan to join us for an enjoyable evening of music and fellowship with friends.
Seminarian dinner
WOONSOCKET — The Woonsocket Council #113 will host a pasta and meatball dinner to benefit seminarians on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5 – 7 p.m., in the Good Shepherd School gym, 1200 Mendon Road. Dinner consists of pasta, homemade meatballs, salad, garlic bread, dessert, coffee, tea and soda. Children under 5 eat for free. Concert at St. Jude to benefit food pantry
LINCOLN — A Benefit Concert for the Northern Rhode Island Food Pantry, with music by Diane Walsh and friends, will take place on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. All proceeds go to support the pantry. The event will take place at St. Jude Church. If possible, please bring a canned good or non-perishable food item donation.
St. Francis de Sales Parish Yard Sale
NORTH KINGSTOWN — St. Francis de Sales Parish, 381 School St., will hold its annual indoor Yard Sale on Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., rain or shine. Items include jewelry, housewares, toys, games, electronics, CD’s, furniture, books and baked goods. The kitchen will be open for refreshments.
