The girls of Good Shepherd Catholic Regional School, Woonsocket, celebrate their win as Division II state champions in the school junior bracket. The St. Joseph School, West Warwick, Eagles were runner-up.

More than 90 teams from parishes and schools around the diocese competed in the 2016 Catholic Athletic League Diocesan Basketball Tournament. Teams competed in two divisions and three age brackets during the first two weekends in March, with several hundred Catholic school students and parishioners participating in the program. Semi-finalists advanced to a championship round on Saturday, March 12, where 17 state champion teams were announced following the games.
