Illegal immigrants have broken our laws, must be deported

TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to know where Ann L. Sullivan is getting her information in her letter to the editor in the RI Catholic on 2/6 that the Trump administration’s immigration policy doesn’t distinguish legal immigrants from illegal immigrants. Any immigrant who came into the United States illegally is an illegal immigrant and has broken our laws. That means they are criminals and should be deported. Maybe the prior administration didn’t recognize that, but this one sure does, and thank God for that. There are no legal immigrants being deported. In fact, many legal immigrants have come out saying that the way illegal immigrants have come into our country is an insult to them, and I agree with them. I applaud the Trump administration for deporting these criminals, many of them violent gang members who have committed heinous crimes in our country (remember Laken Riley), and I pray the Trump administration continues their good work of making this country safe.
