Knights to host Portuguese Breakfast
NORTH KINGSTOWN — The Knights of Columbus will hold a Portuguese Breakfast at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, on Sunday, April 16, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Scrambled eggs, Portuguese-style potatoes, linguica, chourico, baked beans, massa-traditional Portuguese sweetbread, grilled hash, orange juice, coffee and tea will be served.
Celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy at the Shrine

Divine Mercy at St. Martha Church

The Beauty of a Catholic Understanding of Dying

Colosi will speak on “The Beauty of a Catholic Understanding of Dying versus Euthanasia,” Friday, April 21, 6 p.m., in the St. Pius X Church Hall, 45 Elm St. The evening includes dinner (pasta, chicken, meatballs, salad, water, coffee and dessert.) Catholic Men's Conference
PROVIDENCE — The Diocese of Providence invites all priests, deacons, and other Catholic men to the Men's Conference, April 22, at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul with Catholic speaker Chris Mueller. The morning will begin with Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Thomas J. Tobin at 8:30 a.m., followed by talks, food, fellowship and much more. Free parking is available in the Cathedral lots.
Free Outdoor Music at St. Thomas the Apostle Church
WARREN — St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., will host their first in a series of free musical entertainers outside on Sunday, April 23. Gary James Farias perform from 1-4 p.m. The kitchen will be open selling sandwiches and beverages or you may bring your own. There will be an opportunity to purchase tickets for a raffle and 50/50 split the pot drawing.
Priests for Justice to be honored at Madonna Della Strada Awards dinner
BOSTON — The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) will honor the Providence-based Priests for Justice at this year's annual Madonna Della Strada Awards dinner on Sunday, April 23 at Boston College High School, Boston, Mass. Every year, IVC honors individuals or groups who exemplify the values of serving the poor and marginalized and working for social justice. The Priests for Justice include Father Robert Beirne, Father Gerry Harbor, Father Richard Maynard, Father Eugene McKenna, Father Farrell McLaughlin, and Father Ray Tetreault, who recently passed away. The event begins with a Mass at 4 p.m., concelebrated by the Priests for Justice, and followed by a dinner. Shrine of the Little Flower to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Beatification of St. Therese of Lisieux
NASONVILLE — On Saturday, April 29, the Shrine of the Little Flower will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Beatification of St. Therese of Lisieux. The day’s devotions will include Bilingual (English / Spanish) Mass at 11 a.m., followed by an outdoor procession and luncheon. Visitors are encouraged to visit the Shrine grounds and the bookstore and gift shop. The Shrine’s museum will have tours available in both English and Spanish for our visitors. Holy Ghost Wine Tasting Fundraiser
TIVERTON — Church of the Holy Ghost, 316 Judson St., will host a wine tasting fundraiser on Saturday, May 20, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., in Holy Family Hall (inside the church building.) Ticket includes wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts from local businesses, and one deluxe raffle ticket, plus live music. This is a 21+ only event.
